The Room as been described by some critics as "one of the worst films ever made". Wiseau has done a lot of work to earn that classification. He wrote, directed, starred, and he's credited as both the producer and the executive producer.
The movie makes absolutely no sense, characters contradict themselves constantly, the movie takes place in a world where people go to their apartments to have a conversation, only to turn around leave together. What was their reason for going there?
I can't even honestly recommend watching this movie to see how bad it is. On the other hand, it has developed a cult following that shows the movie with a sorted of guided audience participation, similar to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. This environment propels watching the movie from being simple torture to being entertainment that will have you laughing until you cry.
If you live in the Seattle area I urge you to visit Central Cinema for one of their monthly viewings, if you live elsewhere, do some digging and see if anyone's showing it in your area, if you like awful movies I don't think you'll be disappointed.
